Techniflow…looks good, sounds good!
It is easy to forget that the Mustang is also available with an Ecoboost 2.3-litre, and in some ways it is a better driver’s car than the V8-engined GT. The four-pot is lighter and therefore quite a lot nimbler. It also has crisper steering responses, making it more satisfying through the twisty bits.
Where it definitely can’t match its stablemate is in the exhaust note and the Ecoboost is completely outclassed in this department. In fact, the Ecoboost engine has a particularly lifeless tone to it…
Well, help is at hand thanks to our Techniflow exhaust department. They’ve just perfected a 76mm, stainless steel ‘cat-back’ (which means there’s no change to the front part of the system) custom exhaust for the four cylinder ‘Stang and the result is very satisfying. There’s now a throatier tone, rising to a deep roar at high rpm. In fact, it doesn’t sound unlike a Focus RS now – which is not surprising, as the engines are very similar.
And so that people can appreciate your good taste even when your Ponycar is parked, we’ve fitted a pair of custom black tailpipes...
