Whipple blowers for our Supercharged conversions are now available in multiple colours!
The latest and fifth-generation of Whipple’s legendary V3 blower is a major step forward, and we now use this design exclusively on all conversions to facelifted Mustangs. With almost 30 Supercharged builds we can rightly claim to be experts in Ford’s pony car and with the availability of the new blower, results will be even more impressive.
The direct and port injected supercharger system boasts industry-leading efficiency from idle to redline. All-new bearings, gears, rotors and housing allow the new supercharger to spin faster, longer and safer while producing more power than any other positive displacement supercharger ever. The Gen V features an all-new 3/4 rotor combination (vs previous 3/5), 285-degree helix (vs the previous 270-degree), new bell mouth inlet, optimised discharge port and increased diameter versus length for higher efficiency.
The patent-pending triple intercooler design has even more volume and surface area and when paired with the industry's leading heat exchanger, water reservoir and intercooler pump, the result is more power with lower boost levels and quicker recovery times after aggressive operation.
The hardware/software package that comes with this bolt-on set-up reconfigures all the necessary engine functions; including fuel, spark, knock detection, torque management, transmission control and electronic throttle control. The new Flight Control Software can compensate for gearing, fuel octane, crank/cam relearn and many other unique features.
Various parameters are monitored and if one moves outside the ideal range, the PCM will adjust boost and torque accordingly – this gives the Whipple supercharger system unrivalled performance and reliability.
Each complete Whipple system comes with the IAT2 harness and sensor to properly monitor the difference between the incoming air and the compressed air after the intercoolers, this helps maximize power in all conditions. The 6-rib billet idler system features a spring-loaded tensioner, billet idler pulleys and lightweight pocketed supercharger pulley. A 10-rib upgrade is available.
Each system comes with an adjustable idler pulley to allow variance in SC pulleys with minimal belt length changes. The massive 150mm Roval inlet allows for nearly any throttle body to be run.
