Tailor made for the status conscientious RGMotorsport customer this Supercharged conversion takes this already sleek vehicle to another performance level.
And in the company’s time-honoured tradition, We’ve slotted a supercharger under the bonnet of Nissan’s svelte coupe, boosting power to a sensational 320 kW and torque to an equally impressive 480 Nm. This equates to a 55 percent power increase and a 32 percent torque increase compared to a normally aspirated car run on the same rolling road dynamometer. In independent local testing conducted at Reef altitude, the blown car will lop a full second off a Quarter Mile time and scorch through the standing kilometre in just 25,2 seconds with a terminal speed of 218 km/h – that’s 21 km/h faster than standard!
The 0 – 100 km/h dash comes up in 5.95 seconds compared to the 7,1 seconds achieved under similar conditions in a standard car, and 60 to 100 km/h in fourth now takes a mere 5,7 seconds. And while the converted car was still fitted with its speed limiter, RGM can remove it on request. The vehicle’s total ratios currently allows the vehicle to do 44 kms per 1000 engine revolutions. With this governor removed, and the vehicle reaching the rev limiter in top gear, the vehicle should reach a top speed of 286Km/h. It is recommended that the RGM/SAX Race Suspension be done in conjunction with the removal of the road speed governor for obvious reasons!
At the heart of the conversion is a Vortech V2 supercharger with the impeller trimmed specifically for the 350Z application. Gears are helical cut for low noise levels, and the unit is oil-cooled and lubricated by a high pressure oil feed. Unlike some more complex conversions carried out ourselves this joint venture between RGM and Vortech in the USA means that the kit arrives in “bolt-on” form with every nut, bolt and washer included. All brackets are made from high-quality 6082 aircraft aluminum, and black anodized for a particularly classy look. The pulleys and other contact surfaces are all hard-anodized.
