After a huge amount of public interest, we evaluated the feasibility of Supercharging the new KB350 V6 Petrol. This after our big success with the Isuzu KB320. We acquired a development vehicle and after six months of planning and development, we were ready to produce large quantity production kits. The kit was produced using our Research and Develoment team with a sophisticated solid model CAD (Computer Aided Design) application. As can be seen in the included pictures, the detailed layout shows the extremely eye pleasing conversion, as is the guideline with all our other conversions. The Vortech polished centrifugal supercharger unit we use is a V2 SC-Trim. This unit is renowned for it’s quite working operation as well as its reliability. It is high pressure oil fed and runs a gravitational oil return to the sump. The charge cooler as well as all other aluminium components have been highly polished. High pressure blue silicon has been employed for boost couplers and other bends. These are secured with Stainless Steel clamps. As the supercharged unit is permanently engaged, the use of the RGM high flow Dump Valve (Recirculation Valve) has been used to eliminate any surging under light throttle and coasting condition. In order to not restrict the air flow into the radiator, we opted to use an RGM / MRP Liquid charge cooler as opposed to an Air-to-Air intercooler. We have managed to reduce boost air temperature by up to 60 degrees Celsius. A Setrab heat exchanger (cooler) is also fitted with it’s own 8 inch electrical fan, with unrestricted airflow to the radiator to provide cooling to the charge cooler. Circulation is achieved by an electric water pump. This also assists in more effective charge cooling in low speed conditions. The total of the 6 litres liquid cooled system is made up of 40% water and 60% Glycol (Anti-freeze).
