This unique RGM bolt on liquid charge cooled supercharged conversion for the BMW E46 3 series 6 cylinder range is now available to the public. Our design team have developed a bolt on conversion which does not require any engine modifications and utilizes the RGM/MRP liquid charge cooling system which has more efficient cooling characteristics for the lowering of the boosted air intake temperatures.
One of the most important factors is that we do not modify the bodywork what so ever and the charge cooler with its header tank was designed to fit into the exciting cavities in the engine compartment. The supercharge boost pressure has been set at 0.5 bar (7psi).This RGM/MRP liquid charge cooler is a closed loop system and doesn't interfere with the vehicles cooling system what so ever.
The RGM/MRP charge cooler has its own reservoir mounted behind the right front fog light and has its own electric water pump for circulation. We have made use of goodridge lightweight blue anodized fittings. As with all RGM installations we have utilized the highest quality components, nuts, bolts and fittings. All brackets and components have been designed on the RGM CAD system and are laser cut from the highest quality materials. The supercharger pulley is manufactured from 6082 (B51) aircraft grade aluminum and is hard anodized to ensure durability on all working surfaces. We utilize the Vortech V2 SC Trim polished clockwise straight Supercharger on this conversion.
This supercharger is lubricated & cooled by high pressure engine oil and has a gravitational return to the sump. The oil feed pipe is of a Teflon braided nature and the oil return is a push lock system. We have fitted the RGM/EXCEL recirculation valve (dump valve, this ensures no hesitation through pulsing on light throttle as well as maximum efficiency of the supercharger.
