DYNO TUNING

A major part of our business is electronics and most of these tasks are performed in our new state of the art 4 x 4 Dyno room.

Due to the astronomical cost of these items few tuners are afforded the luxury of having them and the highly skilled personnel associated therewith.

Items mostly found in Formula One Grand Prix setups are used, such as our lambda scanner. This determines the exact air fuel mixtures at the specific moment. We also use an electronic link up, constantly monitoring tuning.


Under floor extraction and 'evap' cooling allows minimal heat strain on engines and gearboxes.
Our Dyno undergoes calibration every four months.


The function of a Dyno machine is to measure the engine output of a vehicle on the wheels. It measures either the kw or brake horse power (BHP) output of the vehicle.

To explain more about this topic a manufacturer will give his client (yourself) certain information, for example the engine output kw is so much or x at a certain RPM (rev’s per minute) and the same with the torque. So much NM at a specific RPM. This is what we call flywheel power and can only be accurately measured on an engine dyno ( which is a dyno that does not utilize the vehicle). To explain, you do not have any losses in power because no gearbox, prop shaft, differential nor side shafts are used . Some of us call this the din specification.

Our dyno tuning this is done on a chassis dyno where the vehicle is strapped down onto the rollers (strapping down is merely a safety precaution taken by ourselves). We have installed the latest 4 x 4 Dyno load dyno that utilizes genuine Telma retarders It is not possible to program a car with an inertia dyno (free wheeling dyno) which some people seem to use.The dyno room is in the process of being fully pressurized so that we can simulate sea level conditions and we also have a state of the art exhaust gas extraction and filtering system.The bed of the dyno is electronically adjusted for the different wheel bases on the various 4 x 4 vehicles.


Our dynamometer's software creates a full engine test lab on our Windows PC, which is powerful, flexible, and is easy to use, providing greater flexibility of test options, our Dynamometer's software allows us to display real time trace graphs, adjustable range indicators, and user configurable analogue hardware inputs.


We have a fully sound proof customer viewing room where you can watch the remapping process on your vehicle .


Each vehicle that is remapped has a user friendly before and after graph printed for the client to take home.
